MOSAIC

About MOSAIC

Mobility, Operational Security and Analytical Intelligence Console. An analytical layer over the IOM Displacement Tracking Matrix public API, prepared for ARAC International and Quanta Analytica.

What it is for

DTM tells users where displacement is being recorded. MOSAIC is built to help an analyst see how that recorded displacement is changing, where the change is unusual relative to an area's own history, and what should be asked next. It is a monitoring and cueing instrument. It is not a forecasting system and it is not a substitute for field reporting.

Data responsibility

  • MOSAIC uses only the aggregated, non-sensitive figures the DTM public API exposes at country, Admin 1 and Admin 2 level.
  • It holds no personal data, infers no individual locations, and makes no attempt to reconstruct sensitive microdata from aggregates.
  • Displacement figures describe people in situations of acute vulnerability. Derived indicators are presented with their limitations attached, because a figure repeated without its caveat becomes a claim it was never able to support.
  • Source facts and MOSAIC calculations are visually distinguished throughout. Every calculation carries a MOSAIC-derived marker and a methodology drawer.

Attribution

Source data: International Organization for Migration, Displacement Tracking Matrix, public API version 3. MOSAIC is an independent analytical layer, is not an IOM product, and is not endorsed by IOM. Its derived indicators, thresholds and classifications are platform design choices and are not IOM classifications.

Boundary geometry: Natural Earth 110m country outlines, public domain.

Accessibility

  • Every chart and map has a tabular alternative and a CSV download.
  • All interactive controls are reachable and operable by keyboard, with visible focus.
  • Colour is never the only carrier of meaning; bands are labelled in text.
  • Tables carry captions and scoped headers for screen-reader navigation.
